Biography
Apprenticed in 1984 at the eager age of fourteen to the
Philadelphia based Give
& Take Jugglers under the direction of Dave
Gillies, Eric Geoffrey grew up learning not only how to
juggle but was given a solid foundation in the
subtle art of performing. Years of street performing in
various parts of the world refined his skills in front of
an audience, and in 1988 he attended the Ringling
Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College in
Venice Florida.
He was offered a contract to tour with
them in 1989, and wound up being thrown off of a 45 foot
tall platform on a daily basis. He left the circus after
a season because he discovered it is far more enjoyable to
perform for an audience that he could interact with.
For the next decade Eric traveled and juggled on his own
from Alaska to Florida and occasionally performed with
small one ring European style
circuses. He understood why teachers take sabbaticals
after a while and for something completely different he
and a partner started a gift shop at The Bishop Castle in
Colorado, where for fun he juggled fire atop the
80 foot high fire breathing dragon.
After five years, he missed performing on a
regular basis and took it up once again full time.
Eric is currently experiencing the greatest adventure of his life... becoming a parent. Son Jerry inspired a family move out of the city to the Adirondacks of NY because it's a much friendlier environment to raise a child in, and thus The High Peaks Juggling Show was born.
